hey guys

anyone got a tacho either near leeds or somewhere in lincs who wouldnt mind setting up my 026 for me. think it's over fuelling quite a lot and would just like it set up properly. it doesnt run badly by any means, just gets through the go juice and i dont think its running fast enough. could lean it off myself but i dont wanna have it getting too toasty.

any other suggestions... colourtune??

i woul only take it a quarter turn past the manafactures settins but that no substitute for a properly tuned saw ...one of my local dealers does it for free..

I wish i knew if it was at manufacturer's settings. for the L screw i seem to remember it's all the way in, then one and a quarter turns counter-clockwise or something

In genral. Turn both H & L screws fully in, turn out 1 full turn each ( make sure you have enough on T screw to tick over) all saws should start. On Tick over turn L screw out slowly until engine peaks, turn back 1/4 turn. On full revs, turn out H screw until full peak (sounds like it's going to blow into a million bits) turn back 1/4 turn.

both screws are factory set at 1 turn out on this saw, if you can get a tacho, idle should be 2500 and max permissible speed is 14,000rpm but i wouldnt try and alter this from the 1 turn out without a tacho to hand,

I got a Stihl EDT-7 Tachometer and it's a nice help to have when setting a saw up but you also need to listen to the saw and make some test cuts with it to see if the saw works at it's best !!
