What is the minimum age for getting a job at a tree surgery?

I am 15 now and will be 16 in march and was wondering if I could work or even volunteer at the age of 16. And if so what could I do without any qualifications or experience? I know I can't be a climber! But what ground work could I do, could I use a chainsaw feed the chipper or just move the wood around, or nothing at all!

Also what if any are the chances of getting a weekend job, or volunteering?

Thanks

Jack Mitchell

At 14 my school decided to try get rid of the naughty ones 2 days a week at work exp or college. My college course was useless so worked for 2 days unpaid and paid at weekends.

Pretty much was dragging, chipping, raking got to put the odd pull line up trees but it stood me in good stead.just don't expect to much til you've proved yourself age and experience will come into things alot. As may insurance ?

I then went on to do an apprenticeship with the firm then a full time job after that with firm.

Ring around local firms and ask for weekend work presuming your still at school
