Tree ID help please

Hi, could anyone throw any light on this. It's a 50ft tree that looks like a common ash at 1st glance, but the buds are alternate and swollen. The twigs have a rather pungent smell (similar to cut elder) I've been through all my books etc and have now got a headache ... :)ImageUploadedByArbtalk1360751043.888732.jpg.ee21dc179bfbec2ba9e32079451cba04.jpg
