Just been on the BBC news is that Boris is going to suspend next year phase 3 of the LEZ for light vans, however- on checking the mayors website it is subject to consultation with light van operators etc. a further however he states that he has written to Lord Mandy (the trade and industry minister)suggesting grants for purchase of new vans by businesses and sole traders legitmatly affected so as to get more cleaner vans on the road and so replace older more polluting van. He states that that would provide a stimulus in the commercial motor vehicle trade in these troubled times. I would not hold my breath on this govt giving me a grant towards my new van.

If it did happen would that mean that anybody that had already bought one would get a rebate.I doubt it.

He says in his press release that if you are buying a new van is to wait a while and see the result of the consultation and his endeavours.

This is a good point i know this post is very old but phase on the LEZ zone would be another blow for companys running small transit style tipper and landrovers meaning we would all have to be driving euro 3 engines.Does anyone know what is happening about this i did check on tfl a while ago and it said it was not going ahead.
