ms650 help needed

well lads i sat there last night saw in front of me with the tools to have a look and thought,well ive got the job on sat and sun,should i just leave it until monday and keep the oil topped up,i know if i strip it i wont end up using it and i really need to if im gonne be honest for a few reasons,its not broken i dont think and it oils the chain as it should it was just the fact that it looses it that eats away at me,so ill be felling these oaks with it before it goes to surgery ive decided,who knows it might of been the wrong oil for it,,,im hoping,as of interest being a husky man more myself recently what would you boys run the saw at 50-1 ratio???????????gotta stock up fuel tommorrow and a couple more chains for the 650/361/3120

Just be careful not to run it if the chain stops being oiled, the warning signs are the chain becoming tight and squeeky to the point where it is damn tight.

 

The simplest check is to point th ebar at some clean wood and to rev it up. You should get a line formed within seconds where a vapour of oil is thrown off the chain on to the white wood.

 

If it doesn't do this, I wouldn't use it but would check that the bar oiler hole is free of a blockage - it is easy to turn th ebar round and forget to clear the plug of fine woodchip that forms here!

cheers spud the bars brand new and the chain so i can rule out the blockage and i started it the other day when i collected it from the guy and it spat the oil out,,,im kinda hoping the oil was the wrong oil ill know tommorrow when i go the unit and grab my oil and other saws,ill fill it up then,i must admitt the oil in it did look and feel thin to the touch,looked almost clear

well lads started the oak intended yesterday and the stihl i have to say was amazing for power really nice to use,tad heavy but didnt really feel it till after a while,but had to stop using it the oiler im guessing isnt working the chain tightened itself up to the point it wouldnt spin on the bar,i checked it and it looked dry so i loosened the chain and it was ok.i ran it again for a couple of mins and it did it agin so after that i left it back in the wagon,we only get 6 big limbs down,but all in all a good days wooding,my trusty old 250 ms never lets me down,my pals husky 61 packed up aswell,he he never ends,heres a couple of pics we got today theres twenty times this left to go at next wkend,

mmmm thinking buxtons,service,scary been told two and a half weeks and £100

two 40ft oaks sat and sun aswell,

faifull old 3120 coming out to play again

 

Stuff paying them lot! It takes too long for them to sort out saws, I'm still waiting on a clutch cover!
