Whilst bored over xmas.................

Whilst bored over xmas, me and the landlord looked at ways to speed up log production.

Having built a log splitter out of scrap and it being a success we thought we'd have a bash at a processor........

We researched size of rams etc etc and designs and this is our prototype so far, nearly completed just waiting for shear bars, pipework and a 130L/min pto pump will put it through its paces.

:001_smile:

cant wait for it to be finished, rams have a 14" stroke plenty length of log for our customers and should split a 20" diameter ring into 16 logs in one pass :thumbup1::thumbup1::thumbup1:

will keep adding pics to thread as she develops!

Log splitter looks amazing, are they for sale? Looks like a good workshop you have there where are you located? Can we come and have a look at the finished product in action. How much is the net weight of the machine? Does it comply with CE regulations. Thanks Edd wood

Would Britain have ever started the industrial revolution with CE regulations:biggrin:

Looking good, so far.

Are you not worried about speed, looks like it'll need a lot of oil to move those rams?

Oh, I know it's a sensitive subject but... Looks like a lot of steel on not a lot of rubber...

bogey axles, purely for mock up and moving it round yard. wont be a road tow model .lol

piped into a john deere tractor with 90l/min pump the rams cycle @ 12 seconds.

will have its own pump and hydraulic tank, bought a 120l/min pump to go on it, should cycle in less than 10secs when complete, also only has a 14" stroke to keep our logs to the correct length for our "smaller" log burning customers
