Replacement schrader valve for compression tester?

The valve has gone in one of my cheapo compression testers. Standard fitting, but obviously the regular schrader valve cores tend to have springs that are too strong for chainsaw purposes...

 

Anybody know where I can get one?

Just buy a new tester. Thy dont cost too much. Or buy a decent one.

try the valve from a bmx tube it may be a softer spring in a bike tube

Snapon do them - they are right sod to get hold of and believe me I have tried to get hold of them at a cheaper price!

Interesting point. I shall have to go through my stock of new valves to see if there is any difference between the cores of lawn tractor and lorry valves.

I doubt you will find something suitable, the compression gauges have a very low spring rate and havent found anything from bicycles, automotive or heating aircon related that work!

Yeah, the white snap on ones are the only type that seems suitable, and they're like hens teeth!

Blew the valve in my second tester yesterday! I blame the stupidly high readings from the two Dolmars I'm working on.

 

Now I have two dead testers.
