what are the all time best Stihl models to look out for at the plant auctions i go to ?

what are the pro saw models and what are not ?

( i know about the MS200t, the holy grail ! )

The bigger the number the higher the price, and for parts aswell (stihls anyway) Where would you be selling them? im not really sure someone who uses saws for a living would buy off auction websites. Good condition homeowner saws are always a good seller.

I don't think I have actually done any saws for the non professionals yet....

They all seem to be from the professional user. Maybe I'm just not advertising myself enough..

I think adverts in the local paper would be the way to go there rich, as repairs for homeowner saws would either be from the local dealer they bought the saw from round here, and b&q, homebase, and others all refer customers to that same dealer round where I live

Oh I'm more than prepared for the Aldi specials. Got a skip picked out and everything.

I've done a few mowers in the past but again its been professional users. Some I've just had to say are scrap as they have been well beyond repare.

I need to sort out advertising, I almost always have a card in my pocket when I'm out, but I havnt really advertised before, I've just let the word by mouth way spread. Has been ok so far but I've been lacking in workshop work lately.

The ones who usually come to me with saws have slowed as I've almost done all there saws and its just a case of waiting until they have a breakdown again.

Also maybe try stuff like local councils and maybe local nature reserve charities, that stuff is usually about 5 mins to breakdown! I remember one of the times I used the saws at staffs wildlife trust, the one saw had just come back from a service, fired the one up, one tree down and dead, fired the other up, limbed and cross-cut and dead, the other saw in the workshop there had died too! Usually they have plenty of 'old' broken machinery they want rid of too, sometimes all it needed was a carb clean

Hmmm. Maybe I will have to look into it. Next time I see a van about I will drop a card with them.

I did have a small brainwave of doing an offer of a "pay parts only" for a company near me on arbtalk. Maybe try and get my name about with them and see what they think. If I was fair or any improvements or if I was just total waste.

With the other threads about like chipper080 thread about getting about with work. Would be a trial for all to see.

It has plenty of possible drawbacks I know but as I've always been told "don't ask, don't get!"
