just a quick question. how do you tell which is the lead positions on the wheel? other than when used and the ones that edge go first....

Use a piece of masking tape across the shroud and then spin the head by hand and measure each set

 

Just dont do it with the engine running

You get an eye for it pretty quickly; they are 1 inch ahead of the next row. Further, as time goes on, there will be more polish and wear around the lead cutters.

 

Otherwise just look for the ones with the shattered carbide! - I found the system cut well but the cutters were not tough enough for the hard pebble in the soils around here.

i could have just change the lead ones and leave the blunt clearing ones on. as rotated the whole set so needed fresh teeth... just put the 6 new ones on
