Hi SImon, I did the study guide many years ago and it was excellent, I struggled atthe time to access the exam so let it lapse...sadly!

 

See International Society of Arboriculture and I'm sure others will tell you more.

I've looked into that before, can't remember what the entry requirements were..... Do you need a diploma or something to do it....?

I have done it, you read the study guide and sit the exam, if you read it well enough you pass.......

 

Well perhaps its not quite that simple but essentially you take the exam whenever you feel ready for it.

 

The exam is international with tailoring for each region, for example the UK&I question bank has questions on UK law and British standards where the US question bank has ANSI and US law

 

Its a multi choice modular test, if you get an overall pass mark but fail on a domain you can re sit the domain.

 

Once you have passed you have to keep studying to maintain it. You gather Continuing Education Units CEU's and submit them to ISA

Yep, you can study as and when it suits you, some offer training, Dave Dowson springs to mind, but I dont know if its on line.

 

The examination is twice yearly I think

ive found all the study guides etc on the aa website. do i just read em all learn it and then apply for the exam? or do i have to register with them first?
