I got to admit they have a lot of armilaria atributes, but they just dont quite look right for me iether.

 

the stipe ring is making this a little tricky with my books but shall keep looking as all other points seem to indicate at the very least a saprobic nature as its feeding on what looks like the dysfunctional wood in that root wound. iether a mowing or footfall damge.

My guess is mower damage, it's not in a heavily walked area and yep it is lombardy.

They could be a pholiota variety, as these have a ring or annulus, have you had heavy rain I ask because its important in ident when all things need to be taken into account.

 

heavy rain often washes off velum remnants (scale/volva etc features of cap)

Yes there have been some heavy downpours, nothing very long lasting but certainly heavy when they came.

 

I can get some better photos next week with the camera rather than relying on the phone, if it helps.

yes, shoot the gills, the cap profile, pull one out and shoot the stipe base.

 

its important to be able to see the cap centre both top and bottom for profiling, especialy the way the gills attach to the stipe and cap underside.

I wonder that one too at times
