Aye! First time I have personally seen Kretz on silverleaf maple as well, which is good for the photo archive and cerebral database. Other side of the stump is colonised solely by Gano, and has adopted an odd 'splodge' morphology on a root buttress and the top of the stump.

Kretzschmaria deusta, Ganoderma sp. (susp. G. australe), and Xylaria longipes in the space of maybe 10-12cm on the stump of Acer saccharinum. Cool!

 

Was just reading your post at brew time and spotted these so thanks to you now known what they are ta.
