Vulcan Stove Fan

Good morning Arbtalkers

Has anyone tried one of these Vulcan Stove Fans?

I didnae ken they existed until I entered a cafe on Wednesday for soup and coffee. It was a fairly large open plan room with a wood burner supplying the warmth. It was on top of the wood burner that I spotted the fan and it just looked right and sensible in every way.

As soon as I walked in to the cafe and felt the warmth I was sure the stove must be secondary to the main heating :001_huh: but nope it was just that and the fan on top. Thus I got to researching when I got home and this gorgeous bit of old school British engineering seems to be the best of the lot.

If you have one I would be keen to here your thoughts on it before I commit to buy :D:thumbup1:

I would like to know if it can create enough air movement to move the hot air from the room and into the hallway. Even better if it can move the air up the stairs.

I would like to know if it is any more noisy than a computer running or if the noise is quite pleasing in a soothing rhythmic way and not to interfering with film watching.

Cheers folks :) Winter may return :001_tt2: and I would love to be less reliant on the oil heating system. And I am total sucker for quality well thought out engineered products that benefit me.

Very fast from ordering to arriving!

Been running it for about an hour now and it does what it claims.

I sat watching the Stirling engine pistons at the back with my head torch on. And making them cast cool shadows on the stone wall behind :D So if nothing else I am getting warmer simply from bear hugging the stove lol

Noise is not an issue, my PC is louder!

Quality made unit from high grade materials! Which I love! :001_tt2:

Is it worth the £170... time will tell because it even means I can order 1 less oil load then OMG yes. If it can push enough air to heat beyond this room then it will have surpassed my expectations. But these findings will take about a year to conclude :P

No regrets!

Hey Matt, I've a mate who say's they are a seriously good bit of kit but havent seen one yet, until now...looks like an impressive thing and I would be interested to know/hear your thoughts! I think I may have to take a 'fine adjuster' to the chimney breast to fit it in though....
