I am at a slight advantage as to owning a workshop and all the facilities needed to Engineer things to fit ! we have pipe benders and tig welders etc and wt engineer solutions for theses fitment issues !

I think its like most things its the way you approach them and also what your trying to achieve !

For every individual its different !

This is what makes the world such an interesting place :)

HI MATE what a nice way to put it thanks and thanks for your time on this my mate owns a engineers so im ok thanks jon

So if I understand, its a cheap rad that wont fit unless you spend money adapting it, at which point, as a solution it ceases to become cheap and unless you have done one before it probably becomes a headache?

i can still fit one for less than the others mentioned ! as i said in my last post depends what your trying to achieve and how you want to get there and your skills and time etc !

How much less, and how does it handle the air flow? The body size looks pretty similar to a standard 300tdi unit so presumably more area means less flow.

that particular unit is full width and full depth so considerably larger surface area with 3 inch inlet and outlet the flow is unrestricted and i can tell you that it works ! the 130 went from standard to brunell uprated and then to a forge unit then to one of these and they are the least restrictive to date !

We are running a VNT on the 130 and that is air hungry it would stall on the inlet side before we uprated the intercooler and intake pipe work.

Re the cost Well only knowing the cost from Allard is i could fit one for the price of there kit with the extras like hoses and brackets and SETTING UP the vehicle ! the only additional cost we would recommend would be fitting of an Exhaust Gas Temperature gauge as to tune them properly you need to know this to prevent overheating and melting of heads and pistons !

There kit starts at £399 plus vat !

Allisport one is very good but you need to some idea how to play with the fuel pump.

http://www.landroverweb.com/Pdf-files/Tuning_Land_Rover_Tdi_engines_Rev_2.pdf

the pump is set from the factory in a very safe manner.

Seen several where the pump has been "tweeked" badly ! we always recommend the fitting of An EGT gauge to measure the exhaust temperature as this is the deciding factor on the max fueling and boost fueling setting !
