TreeMotion bridge

I did wonder this when I first got a treemotion. I had a willans t22 (I think) before that.

How about an alpine butterfly in the middle and see how you like it. Then it can go back to normal if you don't.

I never did try it cos I soon got used to it and liked it.

Hey James! Willans T22:confused:did you borrow it From Houghal in 96 and forgot to return it:D that is one oldskool harness...was it the full body version?:D

I'd really try shortening the bridge up a bit and using the harness for a while before fixing in a central point. Once you get used to that range of motion I have found it makes for added versatility in work positions. Whatever you decide to do, it's a great harness and once you've got it set up as you like it I'm sure all will be sweetness and light.

I bought it when halfway through houghall days. We (the guys who stayed onsite) did a few rec climbs at weekends. I did more rec climbs in that time than I have in 15+ yrs since.

A bit of climbing to start with-

T22's and 3 strand..

Now THOSE were the days! Lol. Rockin' up at work to be given 50m of 3 strand - then cutting 2 x 1.5m lengths off each end, and splicing your own eyes and prussik loops E00E.png.

T22's may be old school, but they're like that knackered old pair of slippers that sits in the bottom of the cupboard. The ones you slip on to "just pop to the shed" and you just can't bear to part with.

Why don't you use the veteran loop and tie it as a Prussik in the middle of the bridge

I recon that'll end up being the way forward mate, with a bit of shortening too.

It'll still give me some amount of movement if I want it, and will at least be easy to put on/take off mid climb.
