timberwolf 150 would be a good machine for you espect to pay 4k at least.

Tree hunter dont take this the wrong way but you have said you are a college and have only just started to climbing. Dont you think you should get some more esperience before going on your own . There is so much to running a small tree company. dont take this the wrong way as you are obviously keen.

Sometimes a mans gotta do what a mans gotta do. Good luck Tree hunter. Maybe you could burn you,re debris instead of laying out for a chipper, see how things go before spending.

i just think its gonna be an expensive way of going if i have to keep hiring one!!!!!

Hiring is expensive on the face of it, but, everytime you hire a chipper, the client pays for it, not you. If you hire a machine for a day you should be guaranteed a full days work from a fully functioning machine that you dont have to tinker with to make it work.

Buying a cheap chipper may cost you more in downtime, repairs, and spares.

Just some thoughts to throw into the mix, at the end of the day its a business decision and its your business!

No offence taken...........i've got a couple of days working with a guy who's got a successful business with plenty of work, i'm also aware of my own limitations so wouldn't be trying large section dismantles till i'm confident in my own ability...........just trying to work things out in my head at the min, i can get occassional use of a chipper, but if a time arose when i needed one of my own then its always handy to know the low down......... at the minute i'm finding out more and more each day i'm out. Although my website is up and running, if i was getting asked to do big jobs, i've got plenty of lads who can do the work for me, but i'll not be trying to run before i can walk..........:001_smile:
