I'm looking to buy/hire a small flail collector upto 1.5m. It needs to have hammer type flails for small woody regen. If anyone has one for hire in the yorkshire area or sale elsewhere please get in touch.

Cheers

Yes, I very nearly bought one about 7 years ago. I'm wracking my brains to remember the name of the company and when I do I'll post it.

Hi mate I worked for a company called terrafirma Nr Blackburn they had one, it cut and collected into 1 ton bags, they might hire it out.

How is Ian these days?

He was telling me about how he used it on a moorland restoration project on the back of a 'mog for clearing Molinia growth, it sounded like quite a beast.

We used to do a lot of moorland work, including birch regen up to 3" with a trailed forager. Then we had a silage wagon pulled behind the forager so only needed two tractors and operators.

We had three wagons, to keep both tractors busy. Worked very well and very little to go wrong mechanically.

Needs a fair amount of HP though.
