Why be so negative if you look hard enough you can still find quality British Products.

I have an old Browns sawbench and it is the safest sawbench I have ever used a real quality product. I have also heard good reviews of Browns log splitters but sadly not managed to try one yet.

It is criminal how far our manufacturing industry has fallen, my father and his father where industrial engineers, sadly the markets for the work slowly fizzled out. I guess they could have tried harder, diversified ect but manufacturing in the U.K is just nigh on impossible these days.

 

Like my father, there are so many now aged men with so much skill and knowledge, when they are gone, there will be little left to make a comeback. My dad was a Rolls Royce engineer, he is easily worth 30-50k a year, but can only get a part time job fixing up hotels.

 

Its battered his self esteem, breaks my bloody heart to see him like it, he was and always will be one of the hardest working men I will ever know.

 

Been a long while since I thought about all that, the title hits a nerve, we was a nation of engineers, now look what we have.

point being he wasn't exclusively English, as there is no english exclusivity.

Thats a myth.

 

The Uk is/was great because it was a hub for people from all over the world.
