Spark unit to fly wheel gap too big/small Maybe a lead off ,Fly wheel key sheered putting it out of time ? Spark unit just plain failed ?

Posted

As said. Could gap too big. Flywheel contact points need a clean same as coil. All wires and ht lead in good nick. No cracking or frayed wires. On/off switch earthing contact working properly and disconnecting when turned to start position.

Yes - disconnect the kill wire off th ecoil and try again, reduce the coil to flywheel gap - try A4 paper rather than the typical business card, check the resistance between the plug connection and the kill contact - if it is open circuit then the plug connection is probably open circuit.

If all this fails then the coil is shot:thumbdown:
