Well i hope the oceanp is good and not just sales hype. I use an icicle hitch any one have any info on them whats the preferred hitch you guys use.

 

 

Just modified my icicle its really good grips and doesent slip and releases with much greater ease.

never thought about vt's on fliplines before. what size cord are you using?

 

ive got big hands and 11mm feels too small for me. what size cord would us use with a 13mm line whilst using a vt?

8mm line on my flipline. works nicer than any device of found yet...specially in the 3-1 configuration although you might prefer 4-1 or 3-2.

 

id go 8mm line on 13mm rope also.

I did try the vt once i believe it was not set properly cos it would creep and slip when i tested it. That put me right off it

theres alot of variations of the vt plus what type/size cord and rope is going to play a part in it. im going to give it a try tomorrow.

nylon has a lower melting point than ployester, so yes its not much good

Telhol i'm not keen on that ocean polyester, its to hard and stiff to work well with a VT, although it is possible to find a config that works, it just involves more wraps and braids than I like.

 

I found a knute or variation of that worked best with the ocean poly.

 

Plus i'm not a fan of buying pre-spliced prussik cord, its expensive and not adjustable. Your better off tieing your own cord as you can adjust the length to suit.

 

I do have some eye to eye slings though, they are always handy to have, and the ocean poly is durable so its not a waste of money.

 

I find VT's work better with soft cord that bends easily, and smaller diameter 9-8mm grips better so less chance of creep.

 

The hitchclimber though is spot on I love it and i'm sure you will.
