tp 250 opinions?

hi guys just after any ones opinion on tp 250 pto, anything to look out for ect. been looking at one its been used but is generaly tidy, oils up, greased ect needs a tidy tho asking 2000 ono hes happy for me to take it and try it out, what people recon?

tp,s are cracking chippers,run it on 1000rpm ther very basic ,easy to fix if they need it

Great chippers, I have 1, never had any problems!

Renewed some seals on 1 of the pumps, not bad for a 7 year old machine.

Under the bottom roller, there is a half moon shaped plate, bolted on, take that off and clean it out, that's what corroded my seal, but it took 5 years of gunge.

I've hired a number of these. They're pretty solid, but there were a few issues:

 

The rollers on the chippers I hired were poor at dragging in anything bushy, like big thorn. They tended to scrape the bark off, but wouldn't bite in to the wood beneath. It might be that the rollers on these hire chippers are worn; maybe newer versions work ok

 

There's some sort of lock on one side of the stop bar. When the bar is pushed to stop the rollers, this lock drops in, so if you want to restart, you have to hold the locking lever in and pull the bar out. Very annoying if you're feeding awkward stuff and you're having to work from the other side to the lock.

Sounds like the hired kit was needing some maintenance!

The safety lock on 1 side can be a pain, we always had a rule of standing that side when chipping.
