ridiculous insurance quote?!!!

looking at getting my self a nissan cabstar 34.10 tipper so thought i would check insurance so went on go compare and....£2371!!!!! granted i am only 24 but have been driving over 6 years and have 5 years no claims on my current car which i will add is an audi s3 and costs me only £500 to insure. am i better off giving someone a call about it or is this a standard price? if i should call somewhere, who should i call?

Comparison websites are often crap, you frequently find loads of the prices listed are actually the same firm as well eventually....

Speak to specialists, but insuring a commercial vehicle for business use won't be as cheap as a car you take the Mrs out in, it's all down to risk....

i understand that its going to be more but i just think £2371 is ridiculous. wouldn't mind so much nearer a grand but not what ive just been quoted. will use the net and get the big yellow book out tomorrow and have a ring round. anyone any suggestions who to try first?

since ive been self employed ive always insured for business use so i can offset fuel against tax, currently have 2 vehicles, one with 5 years no claims and the other with one and bothe are insured for business and come in at just over a grand for the pair!
