Hi I'm new to arbtalk but finding it really interesting.

 

 

We have a new wood around 20years next to existing woodland

 

The corsican pine Nurse crop is ready for taking out, is it any goof for fire wood if seasoned well??

It all burns in a fire, it all splits easy enough, it stacks well, advertising is easy.

Wether someone buys it of or not, well that's something I don't know:laugh1:

I have never trier it in my woodburner because I have plenty of hardwood to go at, so not bothered with it really.

Everyman and his dog sells logs nowadays. Keep it for yourself and family.

If you have the stamina and drive, drop it and log it. Most of us learn the hard way. Take a good look at how you will do it, then do it in the most efficient and effective way you can.

Sometimes it can be most effective to fell and process where tree stands, other times fell em and cart them to a central point or into a barn for a wet day job. Evaluate.

As said pine spits but if seasoned properly as almost any wood will make wood stove fuel which is where most firewood goes these days.

Assume your location is not 50 miles from nearest potential customer. Fell and split now start sales next winter.
