What's the carb model number?

Two Carb numbers are listed in the IPL: Carburetor C1Q-S103 Stihl# 1137 120 0600 and Carburetor C1Q-S104 J Stihl# 1137 120 0602

The other one above with the "J" at the end is the japanese market carb. A little rarer I gather.

Its actually listed on my pdf as Japanese. There's also mentions of US, AUS and CAN in some of the other Stihl pdf's I have.

Have just been on the phone with Stihl uk technical line about something else and asked them about this whilst i was on

 

Given that a Stihl chainsaw has a worldwide warranty it follows that all parts even for non uk market saws should be available from your dealer through stihl uk in the event of a warranty issue this also applies to spares

 

and has just been confirmed by the guy on the other end of the phone

 

You need to go into Adamsons or whoever you use locally with the part number and they need to FAX the order to stihl uk as because it is a non uk market saw the part number will not be on the system for them to order

 

Stihl will then check stock with germany and if it is available will then put the part number on for them to be able to order as normal and get the part ordered

 

Or that was the general gist of the conversation anyway but anyparts you need whether a uk market saw or not should be available from your local dealer through stihl uk from germany:thumbup:

I have got the option of getting the parts from Stihl as you suggest, but as in the OP, it would be un economical to go down that route I feel.

 

I guess I'm just hoping for a second hand carb to pop up but may be wishful thinking. Although I haven't totally disregarded the new parts, it does seem an extravegance since a new saw in France could be picked up just over 300euros.
