I was wondering if anyone had any experience of miling Atlas Cedar, I've spoken to a couple of sawmills and they had never heard of it!

My real question is, is it commercially viable to mill or will I be stuck with a load of unsellable timber. Seems, too nice to go to firewood.

i've just bought some deodar from big j and its beautiful stuff, im making a side table with drawers from it and wholy recomend it as a timber.

as a joiner by trade and general woody person i think cedar is a very under used timber. my only recomendation would be that unless it very figured or swirly grained when cut through and through cut it as quater sawn as you can as thats what the stuff i got from big j is and it looks stunning.
