Im after the above product but can't seem to find any where other than ebay Balluff BES M12ML PSC40F BV00 002 Proximity Switch | eBay

 

Question is what bits of info do i need off the sensor?

As far as i can tell its

M12 thread size

10-30v DC

200ma which I'm guessing is the (Load Current Max)

sn=4mm im guessing is the distance it reads from?

 

Would the item in the link below be ok?

i take it its for a speed sensor if its for a cut disc i don't think it would matter whether it reads the gaps or the steps as long as its still reading the amount of segments if it was me i would wing it with this one:thumbup:

It's for the fly wheel on the chipper. So it just takes the reading when the bolt goes by the sensor every revolution.

I would try OEM Automatic Ltd (OEM Automatic Ltd) they supply Balluff sensors, or if you know the specifications of the sensor you may find an equivalent part in RS compontets, Farnell etc

You can use any m12 proximity switch with the same spec. Other than the info you list the only other thing you need to specify is the output type which will be PNP or NPN which should be on the sensor.

If you get really stuck or it does not work I have a box full of different types somewhere but will take me an hour to round them all up.
