Brushcutters

Hi,

 

I'm looking at getting a brushcutter to help me clear and maintain a half-acre paddock/orchard. I'd like to stick with Husqvarna (been pleased with my 555 chainsaw), but want some advice about model. Sorry, I know this is nominally a chainsaw forum!

 

I think I've narrowed it down to either the 327Rx or the 135R. The former is lighter (5.4 vs 6.8 kg), less powerful (0.9 vs 1.4 kW), and less vibrate-y (based on the tech spec), has the less efficient E-Tech II engine (not the X-Torq) and is about 10% cheaper (not a deal-breaker).

 

I want something reliable (which is why I went for the 'professional' 555 chainsaw), and powerful enough to make the job easier -- but not too heavy or hard to use (read: tiring vibrations). Does anyone have opinions about both/either of these?

Hi . I have a 545RX and my bud has the bigger one 555 I think . Personally I prefer the 545 as it has shed loads of power and is noticeably lighter than the 50cc one . It will run 4mm dia "diamond edge " line no problem .

What will you be clearing? If its woody weeds you're better off with a blade, but you need to be careful around trees, fences and any other obstacle, would recommend you spent a few quid more and got a 535RXT or go with the 135R

loving my new jonsered 2145 its the same as a husky 345, blinding bit of kit, always go a bit bigger, makes life easier,set the harness up correctly and you can work 6/7 hours and you dont even know its on your back
