price per hour for woodland management

Hi Guys

 

Just been asked by a guy in the village if i could do some work in his small ( 4/5 acre) oak woodland. Theres a bit to do, fallen trees to log, take out some trees, clear rhododendron, a bit of aerial work by the road.

 

Enough to fill a couple saturdays a month. We agreed on doing it on an hourly rate. like as and when i do it. But how much to charge per hour?

Fuel, equipment, labour etc obviously all comes into it. I was thinking £13-15

 

Any advice from you more experienced bays?

All depends on your overheads and what kit you have ie chipper, truck etc they all have to be payed for and maintained.

 

I would say nearer £25.00 / £30.00 hr

I doubt you get much woodland work then

When it says Aerial work by the road can you seriously work for £13.00 hr?

From the way it was worded, the bit of aerial work by the road sounded like it made up a small percentage of the total work.

 

If he's got enough overheads to need £25/£30 per hour day in day out then he's not going to be thinking about doing a bit of man and saw work is he?

Personally I would say around £20 per hour for a skilled, self employed worker supplying saw, oil and fuel, if its a cash job then £15 per hour.

£13-20 an hour, depending on overheads I reckon. £20 if you are coming in with heavy machinery, £13 if it's you and your saw on someone else's insurance.

thanks for the input, its only a little thing really, one man, saw.my quad and trailer for extracting logs, etc and its in the same village so travel doesnt really come into it. and its for cash. \soithink il say 13/14 hour.
