Yeah sorry but I don't think I explained that I meant 'relatively' and in comparison to what I've been brought up on. But the comparative lack of health and safety to the UK and the 'bad habits' some guys have are what scare me but I'm not trying to bad mouth the industry at all, infact I promote it, never worked with better lads.I've already convinced more friends from the UK to come over I love it that much. Sorry if I offended you.

Dude no offense taken just take care, its not a clothes line or house we are cutting near. Like i mentioned i work on the lines everyday i climb full SRT every tree have done for nearly 7 months, for me it has been the best thing for my climbing i've ever done, especially since we do alot of up and down

I've never used SRT and to be honest I don't have intention to switch to it in the near future. Just one of those things I have no interest in, I like my drt and I'm comfortable with it, plus I can't be bothered with using a throw line or climbing to the top to attach it when I might only be up there for twenty minutes.

I can understand why people use SRT though.

Do a search on this little jewel. It is called the Hitch Hiker and is the creation of Paul Cox of Ropetek, who also makes the Ropetek Wraptor, a motorized ascender.

The HH is a hitch-based system, mid-line attachable, goes from SRT ascent to SRWP seamlessly, as well as switching into DdRT mode if the need presents itself.

My understanding is that it will be officially released during the TCIA Expo in November.

I was just checking this out. Before I ever heard of it I had the same idea in my mind but couldn't really draw it out. I am RW fan mainly climbing SRT with the wrench. This Hitch Hiker looks to be promising. Can't wait to try one! Thumb up!

Every tree i do is spikeless SRT and i'm way quicker than the rest of the blokes and can keep up when they are on spikes. Do you spike on line clearance work?

Hate spikes,

Only use blaze, prussik, steel line when spiking, Jack and ivy for all other work. DRT. waiting to try srt.. Dont do line work..
