ok , had a very very very near miss the other day , i double check the clamps tight on shoot before i leave home and bugger off for the day

this 1 day cut long story short the shoot worked way lose over bumpy roads and came off just missing the car behind as i stopped at junction.

luckly nobody was hurt or property damaged and everybody was sweet with what happend.

question is , my clamp set it the large metal clamp with the handle , it the other section on other side , is this the same or do they have a washer and nut like mine did have , just like to check

when i had our tw190 we found that no matter how hard we tried we could not keep the shoot secured when on the road the amount of times we would have to stop and secure the shoot before it took out a bus was unreal , in the end it got a bead of weld o the inside edge of the collar so that the shoot would clamp down onto the bead of weld and not move

a simlpe pin and r clip would solve the situation before they leave the factory !!

Hi Dr Green

Sorry to hear you have had a problem with the discharge chute on a TW machine.

This is an unusual occurance as the chutes are made to enable road transport, as they are clamped 180° opposite to each other with the 2 x clamp nuts.

I have attached a copy of all the components needed for the correct clamping of the tubes and would ask you to check you are in possession of all the parts.

If you need any assistance please contact the TW tech help line on 01449 765820

best regards

looks like items 11,12,13,14 werent original parts , just poor items somebody has replaced. i shall be ordering those , plus the long bolt to hold the plastic roller cover in place and if possible the red stop button. at least it just little things.

other than that its great. cant fault the machine tbh

think i might drill the shoot lip and were it meets the body and place a pin in it , just as a back up , you never know , might not be so lucky next time - and we always check and check again every time - just one of those things i supose

If you want a back up just tie some rope from the bit that stops the shoot swinging 360 to the chipper lifting eye ive seen people do that then you dont have to drill and alter the machine.
