Has anyone got an Ama th2510 top handled saw?

Seen them on fr jones site and they look like they would be ok for me.

I dont do enough to warrant a ms201t but could do with some power between silky and 346xp.

Any opinions on this saw much appreciated.:confused1:

I'd much rather climb using my Husqvarna 346 XP.

I have an AMA top handle and am really pleased with it, from memory £125 from FR jones, runs well powerful enough for anything buy really big stuff.

I use mine for weekend work and reccomend it, its very light and easy to strip/work on.

negatives:

chain brake very stiff to apply compared to my stihl saws

makes a noise like a strimmer

bit plasticy feeling

petrol filler is too small for the push fill so you need a funnel

but on the whole dont think youll regret it.

We bought one a few months back. For the money, can't fault it. Paid for itself in first half hour of use! Sticker fell off on first outing though, and I don't like the pretend screw heads moulded into the the air filter cover - make it look like a toy.

I have one too, as above, cant fault it for the money, I've used it to the point of it nearly needing a new chain and i believe you have to get a compatible oregon combo for it which is probably no bad thing.

Some times it has it moments starting first time but after that starts first pull and is very good on fuel consumption.

For the money, new, i don't think you can find better. Id love a new stihl top handle but cant warrant the price tag for the amount of work id give it at the moment.

Excellent little saw for the money. I only use mine for conny hedge reductions where you don't need the power of a 200, plus it's half the weight which makes it easy to cock on one side and cut n hold. I have the Oregon chain on it but tbh it's a bit 'clattery' so the next chain will be a Picco.

I refer to it as my motorised Silky. Highly recommended.....:thumbup1:
