Hello everyone,

Might have a job with some large sawlogs coming up, just wondered what sort of prices roadside.

norway spruce up to 3 foot.

 

There is also some 18-30 inch douglas fir.

Can't help with prices particularly but we found that generally anything over 18" TD will be a few quid per tonne less as not many places want bigger stuff.

 

Am sure the douglas could be a bit more desirable though.

Depending on overall volume and percentages of oversize logs you might be better off seeking out specialist mills. If the DF is good enough you might be able to sell it for ships masts in pole length, but it has to be something special for that. Contact a local timber haulier, they'll have a good idea of the local crack!
