Looking at buying a STILH MS211 16inch

Hi, new member to your site, my old Mcknacked chainsaw is on its last legs. Need saw for cutting fire wood and potentially cutting some smaller trees.The spec looks good for the MS211 C-BE with piccoduro saw chain/quick chain tensioner priced at £400. Any thoughts?

Sure you can buy cheaper than that, think I paid £290 6 months ago from TH Power Products, Burscough

the best thing u can do is pm spudulike and see what he has in stock a 2nd hand machine from him is the best bet

go for ms 260 area or husq 346 tell him what ur after he is a top bloke and will sort u out for less than 400 pound

I got a 211 from jonses afew weeks ago for around 250 good wee saw but orderd a 201 forestry saw so might be selling the 211

Just to add, I've got an MS211 with 16" bar, but find it slightly underpowered for my needs, I'd recommend something more powerful.

Just to add to the thread I'm looking for a new saw as well. I'm specifically thinking about the Husqa 435E or Stihl MS211.(both around £300 ish with a 16" bar)

 

And yes, it is my 1st saw, hence the reletivly low price, as I'm bound to smash it. Also leaning towards the Stihl as I've been told Stihl are more tolerant of noob mistakes though the Husqvas are generally nicer to use.

Avoid the E version of the Husqvarna. Buy the one with proper bar nuts and tensioner. At least thats my opinion!!

211 you will have to keep the chain ultra sharp, the slightest loss of edge and it rolls over and waits for you to tickle its tummy to get going again
