How many wraps of your prussik are you lot using on your side strop?

4 to 6 depending on the weather. If its a wet slippery day Ill use 6, in a classic prussic.

But this really depends on the rope you are using as a base for your lanyard.

I like three strand ProMaster or similar, and when wet I find the extra wraps help with gripping, and with not binding ?

Some ropes are not really affected as much by being wet.

To be totally honest it really varies from day to day, week to week, I play around with different knots sometimes, and sometimes Ill leave it the same for a while.

Ok so this evening I got some new 10mm op and spliced it onto a snap lock . Seems to feed out of the cinch alot better than platinum.

Interesting! i swapped 10mm OP for platinum in my strop, I got annoyed by how 'baggy' the OP felt. That was with a hitch mind you..... :001_smile:

Looks smart though Joe :thumbup1:

Platinum is definitely more rigid but

Because op is thinner it tends better and releases slack out by just tugging on the krab, I can't imagine op lasting long as it very baggy. ImageUploadedByArbtalk1366796297.984944.jpg.c9604ec6bd4f60d5a26a2e2ddec9c225.jpg
