I know theres already a load of hitch climber posts but here we go.

Just got a DMM pulley and some ocean polyester 8mm teufelberger eye to eye (95cm), climbing on yale XTC 13mm. Anyone using this same set up, vt, distel or schwabich?

Is it essential that you use oval karabiners?

Cheers lads

Oval carabiners completely necessary, I tend to use an oval beneath and an hms above. I climb with many climbers who use different combinations of hms, offset d,s and ovals.

Sorry guys,I dont mean to rock the boat but i dont think ovals are nessecary.

I was using normal krabs for around 2 years befor i switched to the ovals. Dont get me wrong it is alot neater setup but not vital.

Stay safe

The oval is most useful for the bottom biner so you can invert it to make it easier to connect/disconnect from the system. But really you can get away with anything.
