My best bodge is running my disco right now.Wagon wouldnt start and i suspected the battery wasnt charging as the alternator belt was loose.Charged the battery and replaced all belts.Still no joy.Metered relay and solenoid, and was sat thinking what the hell, and saw the guts of the ignition hanging out.

Bodged up a length of wire to fire up the ignition and work the starter while i waited for a new lock/ignition assembly to arrive.

Figured out that the same system that stops scumbags stealing cars also makes life difficult for owners to change ignition barrels.Bolts shear off when torque is reached.It needs to be sawn off with great difficulty.

I now have a key for the steering lock and another for the ignition which sits next to the transfer box stick.I think it will be there for some time.
