Does anyone have any thoughts/comments as to the worthiness of single braid ropes as a main rigging line, i.e. Tenex, Yalex, Nerex etc?

I'm keen to hear pros cons etc. Not used it myself.

Cheers in anticipation

i would of thought tennex and yalex would have pluckes and easily damaged if running against a tree or tree trunk and if tieing knots at the first half hitch i would imagine there would be a build up of heat causing damage to the rope

although strength to diameter would be a plus point

ive just been reading about it being used as a hitch. make a spliced eye in one end, then open the braid up and feed your climbing line through the empty core for a cple of inches and exit. this is your hitch. the idea seems kinda neat but i havent tried it yet.

i reckon it could be really good. problems would be not being able to see the wear and not being able to attach midline. The idea seems obvious now ive seen it!!
