yes have done a few years ago ok but just went back to prussik

Very good hitch love it but now use VT with hitch climber the icicle was not as smooth as VT.

 

Either KNUT or VT is the way to go since using a pulley just makes sense.

tried the knut on my lanyard t other day but didnt get on well with it

I tried it for a while, its very reliable but tbh its a bit too grippy. It would be a good choice for a beginner, and is better than a standard prusik but not as good as a Knut TK or the martin which is what I use.

I like my hitches like I like my women, smooth on the thrust but supportive when I hang.

thats pretty much what i figured. Cheers guys. Tied it on a bit of rope lying around the other day and it looked neat and compact and seemed to grip instantly but as you said it also seemed to stay fairly firm. Didnt know if it may be different in an actual climbing set-up.
