On a Husqvarna 262xp should the chain oil run out when the fuel runs out? i have the screw on mine all the way out and it doesn't even use half whats in the tank! The chain doesn't get overly hot. I haven't checked the filter yet but the bit where it comes out the hole is clear and so is the bar rails and hole although they seem very small compared to other bars?

Oilers are designed NOT to run out before the fuel so there is never a chance of running the chain dry . You should really fill the oil tank first then the fuel that way its 100% you will not run a chain dry .

I know that but the oil used between fill ups is minuscule. I always fill both up at the same time and clean the filters just after lunch

OH ok sorry . Err maybe its not oiling properly . Have you run the saw flat out for a few seconds to see if its sprays on to a log cut face or similar ?

the oilier is working fine now. it would oil for a bit as soon as you start it up but then it would stop so i pushed a needle through this hole which i assume to be the breather and its working again now!

O.K. Sorted . Well done . !
