First piece made up out of the milled timber. Ten mins with a chainsaw last weekend. The heartwood has a beautiful colour, shame it doesn't come out too well on the picture.

 

I did have a ring off the butt end that I was planning on making a table top with but a combination of a massive shake and me knocking it over put an end to that:thumbdown:

Nice set of pics Dan, not to many trees of that size come down, seemed like you had great weather for it too. Tidy work fella,

 

Was that why you asked about my 56" Alsakan mill, Still havent got it back from its "short term loan". With another Dan, might have to pop round his.

56"! You went for it a bit then!:lol: Nah, was around that time, but had (and still have) some other stuff I'd like to mill
