Listen to your instructor

Remember all the safety features of the saw

Dont drop start the saw

Dont cut the hinge

Take your time, dont rush and think about what your doing

Revise, revise, revise i found drawing diagrams best

Read the assessment schedule and make sure you know the answers to all of it, be tested by a friend or family member.

And most of all dont worry, although there is a lot to take in and remember you'll be amazed when it all comes blurting back out on the test day.

Oh and get early nights each day cos its quite a long week if your not used to it?

Enjoy and good luck!

Just make sure to read up, I did all my certs with them and they are great.

I would guess that your on site training will be at the United Utilities woodland at belmont (Blackburn)

If you get Dennis as your instructor then its:thumbup:

Good Luck...

Got to agree Dennis is a top bloke and great instructor:thumbup:

But if you get Andy Mac as your assessor then it's:thumbup::thumbup:

Like what's already been said read up on things like, what should a risk assessment contain? blah blah and you'll be fine.:thumbup1:

Good luck bud:thumbup1:

Give the saw a maintenance (sharpen, clean)before u get assessed then there when u come to do it on your test its all done (without the nerves) so u can just give it a quick one on ye test. Read through your revision on parts and what their for. But most of all know the health and safety!

Thats what I thought but you have to show that you can sharpen a chain so he'll just blunt most of the teeth with a flat file and one tooth more than the rest as ihe did with me. Practice keeping the bar level when felling and and go over and over the assessment criteria. And you wont get extra marks for speed!

Best of luck !
