Problem with ours Dave is that 10mm can cock everything up, I like to keep gaps down to about 10 thou.

Just got back from north wales.

 

Saw some cracking slate semi dry walls, the used mortar on the inner but what a cracking looking wall finish.

Thats something we have done in the past. Bit of a cheat, but if it is a retaining wall of over 1.5m high or with second hand stone or facing blockwork etc then it is more than acceptible i reckon.
