Good post John Shutler.

It's large take-downs that kill it form me. Doing it manually takes such a long time I often loose the job to a larger firm that can throw loads of cheap labour at it and has a timber type truck or something. Bottom line is, they can shift the material off site faster and easier than I can.

One of the worst things is ringing up on site so the logs fit on the Arb trolley. At the end there is a truck load of saw dust to shovel and load into the truck. Boring.

 

I'm just quoting to take down two willows in a long garden. Do I use the trolley or hire in an Avant with loading shovel for £80 or not???
