The wall you see in the background is the boundary to the road, the clutter you see is the complete disregard and lack of respect for a specimen of this age. The current owners of this property have turned it into a hotel (building not the tree) and will not pay or listen to any proffesionals regarding the health and care of their trees.

That's awesome. It does need a bit of mulch though.

 

It's impossible to get through to some people about trees. They just want to tie their washing lines to them and hack branches off when they get 'in the way' and complain about leaves falling off.

Looking at it i would hazard an informed guess at about 1200 - 1400 years old

 

i have table for approx yew ages ill hunt it down and post it up.

 

Needs to be measured at 1.5m from G level and recorded as well.
