now that was a dilemia? but ended up with decking oil,as had run out of linseed, and its linseed based,,,had a new type of varnish which is matt finnish, but didnt want to risk the first go of it on this bench,,too nice

yes mate,,,with large index screws to pull it up tight, and gorila glue , the legs are morticed and tennoned,,,
