Aesculus x carnea with canker

Hi,

Thanks for all the replies, as I said my first reaction was canker on carnea, gosh, no worries, but the depth and situation made me think again. No fruiting bodies, some dead bark above, very little exudation.

I took a carnea down in my reckless youth covered in canker and Rigidiporus, no sign of decay in the main trunk.

So, maybe just leave it alone?
