New Jensen A540 Turntable Chipper

Recommended Posts

It's the way regs are headed though, expect to see more and more chippers designed that way.

What way? :scared1:

Maybe you are really tall?

We have a 530T and I like the fact that you can just walk stuff into the hopper without losing momentum. It saves my back.

With a flat table machine you drag to the chipper' date=' stop, have to lift the butt end of the brash up higher and then pivot it over the back of the feed table for it to get bitten by the feed rollers like a flat table machine.

Its two movements instead of one.[/quote']

Yes, tall-ish (6'4"); I obviously have to do the reverse of you; stoop to get it in cos it's too low. I'd rather develop arms to lift the butt than give myself a bad back in old age...

why? :001_rolleyes:

The chipper in-feed heights sre set by the HSE dependant on the position of the control / safety bar around the hopper, if the bar is around the bottom 75%of the hopper the leading edge of the hopper must be <600mm from the ground when on a flat, level surface, if the leading edge is lower than 600mm then the bar must be situated around the side and top of the hopper and the distance from the bar to the lower leading edge of the hopper must be no greater than 1000mm meaning that the bar should never be higher than 1599mm from the ground on a top bar machines. there are further minimum distances from the leading edge to the nip point of the feed rollers but I think this will only complicate matters:sneaky2:

Hope this makes sense:thumbup:
