Hi there people

I am not sure if i am in the right forum but thought this might be a good place to start.

I have an uncle who is looking to build a hunt table. He is looking either for Yew or Walnut or similar types of wood.

He was just wondering how much timber would cost and were it could be found.

The table would be 10ft by 4.5ft roughly so 3 planks of 10x1.5

Cheers for your help

May have some yew in that length although is more 'rustic looking'.

Would be good to give an idea of what the table will look like when finished i.e. a picture of an example table would be handy.

Also where are you in the country?

I am haggling over a stand of Yew at the moment. There are 5 very good logs and the ones I had from this estate 10 years ago were beautiful. Usual problem is the owner has over-valued standing timber and so not viable yet. What is the time scale as it will be at least a year till these can be kilned after milling?
