The conifers have been there 30 years, I've been there 12, the conifers are only in my garden and will not encroach on his and they don't block any skyline out, you look from his side the conifers are topped out on the ridgeline of my roof from my side they don't block any skyline either. They haven't changed size or shape in that time

My point is, if you are going to plant a tree don't share half of it with the neighbours and why the hell would you top it after three years :confused1: :confused1:

Not saying they are right to have chosen to plant that tree where they did, but it is their garden and just maybe they think its the size they want now? Live and let live.

eh! :confused1: don't see what your getting at Andy.

If it's the (10ft) conifer, I have asked before if they want me to take it down, they said no because it blocks the veiw from my back door to their bedroom window.

Your looking too much into things

I think your right Dean, if you want to plant a tree on your land, why not plant it where it can reach maturity within your land?

Instead of forcing you neighbor to "share" the crown, or chop off their side and end up having to looking at a butchered silhouette,

I think that most people dont really have a clue or dont think about what they are doing.

You have to remember that because we/you are in the industry we are(dunno if that makes sense!) then we know the problems that can arise from that tree that has been planted close to your property, Joe public usually doesnt.

Have a word with him and explain the problem and try not to get yourself all worked up about it, just plant some more leylandii :001_smile:
