I've got a set of husky ones, as they have a 3.5mm jack for connecting phone/mp3 player etc. I use an iPod nano, in a little pouch which is cable-tied inside the helmet so there are no wires dangling anywhere. You can also get a mike-cable so you can plug into your phone and helmet and use the phone hands free without having to take of the muffs, turn off the radio etc. I've used it as a cheap alternative to the stein ptt system when pulling over trees with a long line and no line of sight.

The thing I don't like about the husky ones is when you play music, it turns over from radio to the line-in but switches back to the radio in between songs sometimes if there's a few seconds silence.

I got mine from abbey "pro", look for the thread on here on them for some feedback....

If the petzl helmets are the same fitting as the husky helmets, then the Sordin ones (sometimes used to see them branded as husky) will fit and IME last fairly well. I had a set of the basic ones for about 7 years before they completely died.

There's a guy on ebay selling them and he's the cheapest I've found @ £69.99 or £79.99 for the stereo ones.

I just leave the truck windows open with my favourite death metal CDs playing full blast. Customer love it because it helps drown out the noise of the chipper :thrasher::thrasher:

But on a serious note.... what is the battery life on the Sordins like? And are they ok in the rain?

I have seen the light after borrowing a set recently! Conny bashing in the rain has never been so good! :thumbup1:

My question is, where to get the cheapest (but still quality) set with attachments for a petzl helmet?

Cheers

sounds like i might have to get a set soon too mate?? :thumbup1:
